Family Reunion in Twin

The Henry and Vinnie Stocks Family Reunion was in Twin Falls on July 5th. Heanry & Vinnie are my mom's paternal grandparents. A lot of mom's first cousins and some of her aunts & uncles (those who are still living) were there.
As a side note, Jeni Romney (my neighbor, my RS secretary & friend) was also there. We are second cousins. Her mom and my mom are first cousins.

Lexi is sitting on giant play equpiment (one of those air jumper things).

Jaxon was tickled with the prizes he got from the pinata (good thing Charlie was there to help him collect a few items).

Aunt Barbara Bennett & my mom (Charlie is thoroughly enjoying himself in the background)

My mom, Aunt Linda & Aunt LaRue (her sisters)

One of the traditions of this reunion is that everyone brings donated auction items and the $$ raised pays for the reunion (pavilion rental, some food etc.) My mom took one of her quilts that went for more $ than anything (around $60). That doesn't cover teh cost of the material, but it was still fun for her to donate. Others donate pictures of ancestors, items from the dollar store (which go for more than a $1), geneological charts, golf balls and more.
One of the other traditions that has been lost through the years is singing together and telling stories. My Grandpa Carol Stocks and his siblings/children would sit around and sing to the guitar, harmonica and more. I remember my grandpas paying me $.25 everytime I would perform for him. For "old-times sake", Aunt Barbara daughter, my mom and my aunt Linda sand a few songs.

My mom's family does the auction thing too. That's so funny- I thought our family was so original- the quilts are always the big ticket items at our reunions too. Well the quilts and all the BYU gear. :)
